Ein verstärktes Nachhaltigkeitsempfinden in der Bevölkerung sowie steigende Energiekosten führen dazu, dass Unternehmen vermehrt das Ziel der Klimaneutralität in den Fokus nehmen. Der erste Schritt dabei ist die Verbesserung der Material- und Energieeffizienz von Unternehmen. Die Kilowattstunde, die nicht aufgebracht werden muss, emittiert keine Treibhausgase und verursacht keine Kosten. An diesem Punkt setzt ein neues Verbundprojekt an, in dem Wissenschaftler*innen der Universität Paderborn, die im SICP – Software Innovation Campus interdisziplinär forschen, gemeinsam mit dem Lehrstuhl für Leichtbau im Automobil (ebenfalls Universität Paderborn) sowie der Universität Bielefeld und den Unternehmen NTT Data Business Solutions AG, GEA Westfalia Separator Group GmbH, Miele & Cie. KG und Phoenix Contact Smart Business GmbH Hand in Hand arbeiten. Ziel ist es, Treibhausgase in der Industrie zu verringern. Das Projekt „Climate neutral Business in Ostwestfalen-Lippe (Climate bOWL)“ wird im Rahmen des Spitzenclusters it’s OWL seit April für drei Jahre mit 1,86 Millionen Euro vom Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Innovation, Digitalisierung und Energie des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (MWIDE NRW) gefördert. Das Gesamtvolumen des Projektes beträgt 3,16 Millionen Euro. Assoziierte Partner im Projekt sind die Unternehmen BENTELER Automobiltechnik GmbH und CLAAS KGaA mbH, die Prognos AG fungiert als Projektunterstützer.
