Code Silicon Valley was founded to help empower young kids to learn how to code by teaching a variety of classes such as Java, Website Design, and Game Development. Why did we do this? We’ll tell you all about it here. Opportunities: Today, learning to code is more invaluable than ever before. The future of technology and innovation is heavily intertwined with computer science, and learning programming languages can be a key to amazing opportunities. Therefore, learning to code early on in one's life is highly beneficial. Breaking the Stigma: Being students who have learned these languages only over past few years, we understand learning to code can be a daunting task. Many people think coding is extremely difficult, time consuming, and math orientated; as being surrounded by well educated engineers and software developers, coding naturally adheres towards an activity that requires a diploma. Our mission is to break this stigma and show younger generations that coding can be learned by anyone. Empowerment: Every day, we constantly use and embrace the fruits of software development. Using these tools to such a prevalent extent, it is common place to sometimes think “Why in the world would the do that”, when encountering a bug, and wishing you could do something about it. Learning to code grants individuals the power to fulfill these wishes. After you learn how it works, our internet browsers, websites, and mobile apps are viewed in a completely different way. In addition, to teaching classes, we are working to partner with local school that are lacking in technology to offer tech equipment, keynote speakers, and fundraisers.
