Codling Wind Park represents one of the largest energy infrastructure investments in Ireland this decade and is set to become Ireland’s largest offshore wind farm, being developed in the Irish Sea. Our ambition is to not only develop a project of which Ireland can be proud, but to help create the right conditions for the development of a strong and sustainable offshore wind industry in Ireland. We want to contribute to Ireland’s low carbon ambitions and help generate a cleaner environment, not only for today’s generation, but for generations to come. With the potential to provide power to over 1 million Irish homes every year, Codling Wind Park will support Irish energy independence, help stabilise the cost of electricity for Irish consumers and will displace 1.7 million tonnes of carbon. It will also help the country realise its enormous potential to become a world leader in offshore wind. When operational, it will help Ireland meet over 26% of Ireland’s 2030 grid connected offshore wind targets while also helping the country achieve its target of generating 80% of its electricity from renewable energy by the same year. Codling Wind Park will also deliver substantial benefits to local communities, the regional and national economy, including more than 1,000 construction jobs and 70 long-term, locally based jobs. Codling Wind Park is currently in development stage. Listening and engaging with the public and all our stakeholders is an important part of our journey, as we want to do this in partnership. Feedback is incredibly important to us, and we hope that many people will take the time to view our plans and progress via our website www.codlingwindpark.ie and share their thoughts with us. Codling Wind Park is a 50:50 joint venture between EDF Renewables and Fred. Olsen Renewables. Subject to all necessary permits and consents being received, Codling could begin construction in 2027.
