Welcome to the official LinkedIn page of Comites (or Com.It.Es) Nuova Zelanda, the representative committee for Italian nationals living in NZ and surrounding Pacific Islands.
Made up of 12 volunteer members who don't receive remuneration for their activities, the current Comites Nuova Zelanda was elected by the local Italian community in December 2021, and will remain in office until 2026.
Comites are present almost worldwide and represent the needs of Italian citizens residing abroad as well as descendants of Italian migrants. Their mission is to co-operate with the consular offices to identify the social, cultural, and civil needs of their Italian communities.
In partnership with local associations, Comites Nuova Zelanda develops and promotes helpful initiatives and programmes in several areas of cultural and social life, welfare and school assistance, as well as the professional and recreational sectors.
In addition to New Zealand, the committee has territorial jurisdiction over Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kiribati and Marshall Islands.
