Started as a "Voice is Development" movement through People's Journalism in 1995, the COMMONMAN Trust helped Government of Odisha to set up first Employment Mission of India in 2005. In 2017, it changed its focus to Result Oriented Employment Policy. After working in Karnataka, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Haryana, it shifted its base to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, in January 2021.
In our determination to Lead by Example, we redefine Revolution as RE-EVOLUTION - from Slogan to Solution, from Protest to Possibilities. If our People's Journalism experiment in 1995 turned into Citizen Journalism in 2000, our draft proposal for India's first Employment Mission was implemented by Government of Odisha in 2005.
MILESTONES:
1. Beggars Corporation (Varanasi/2021) : Turning beggars into entrepreneurs.
2. Luck-Know Startup School(2022) : Promoting social impact entrepreneurs (In collaboration with SCB Group of Institutions, Lucknow).
3. Mission Unemployment Free Varanasi (2021): Laboratory of Result-Oriented Employment Policy (In collaboration with JanMitra Nyas)
4. Alternative Employment Policy : Helped the Government of Odisha to establish first Employment Mission of India (2005). Worked in Odisha, Bihar, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
5. AROMV - the Commonman's Newspaper (1995) : Pioneered People's Journalism which later became Citizen Journalism.
