Η Παύλος Ι. Κοντέλλης Α.Ε.Β.Ε. είναι μια από τις παλαιότερες, μεγαλύτερες και αρτιότερα οργανωμένες Εταιρείες στον κλάδο της.
Οι ρίζες της Εταιρείας ξεκινούν το 1919, όταν ο Ιωάννης Κοντέλλης επέστρεψε από την Αμερική για να γίνει ο αντιπρόσωπος της Ford, αρχικά στη Μυτιλήνη και αργότερα στον Πειραιά και την Αθήνα, ιδρύοντας την Εταιρεία Ι. Ε. Κοντέλλης Α.Ε.
Το 1952 η Εταιρεία δημιουργεί ξεχωριστό τμήμα για την προώθηση των γεωργικών Ελκυστήρων Ford, τη διεύθυνση του οποίου αναλαμβάνει ο Παύλος Κοντέλλης, γιος του Ιωάννη. Το 1958 ιδρύεται η Παύλος Ι. Κοντέλλης ΑΕΒΕ, για τον αποτελεσματικότερο χειρισμό του αυξανόμενου όγκου πωλήσεων γεωργικών ελκυστήρων.
Από τα πρώτα της χρόνια η Εταιρεία προείδε την ανάπτυξη της αγοράς των χωματουργικών μηχανημάτων. Έτσι το 1962 αντιπροσωπεύει ήδη τους φορτωτές Bray, τους αεροσυμπιεστές Holman και αργότερα τους εκσκαφείς Priestman. Σύντομα συνέδεσε το όνομά της με τα «πρώτα ονόματα» της αγοράς, όπως τις θρυλικές Εταιρείες International Harvester, Ruston-Bucyrus και Bucyrus-Erie, Barber-Greene, American Hoist, κλπ.
Με συνεχή παρουσία από το 1958 στο χώρο των Χωματουργικών και Βιομηχανικών Μηχανημάτων και από το 1992 στο χώρο των Επαγγελματικών Αυτοκινήτων και Οχημάτων, η «Παύλος Ι. Κοντέλλης Α.Ε.Β.Ε.» χαίρει άριστης φήμης τόσο στον Ιδιωτικό όσο και τον Δημόσιο τομέα.
