Since 1868, sororities have been a central aspect of student life at Cornell University. Today, the Cornell Panhellenic Council oversees 13 active chapters, all with diverse sisterhoods, values, philanthropic missions, and traditions, and we are the largest women's organization on campus. Over a third of the student population at Cornell is affiliated with a fraternity or sorority, and there are over 2,000 members of our sorority community. The purpose of the Cornell Panhellenic Council is to represent the interests of the 13 Panhellenic chapters to the University administration and to promote unity amongst all chapters. Additionally, as a self-governing organization, we manage a sorority-wide judicial system, the Greek Judicial Board, and spearhead all recruitment & publicity efforts for our fraternity community. The second largest of its kind, the Cornell Panhellenic Council and its members accept & celebrate students of all identities and backgrounds—regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, ability/disability, or socioeconomic status.
