Surrounded by the Covid-19 pandamic, April 2020 was not at all pleasant for us. The plan to start the Castaway on the Moon’s journey in such a situation was also quite challenging. Happily I, jiba and all of our executive board member took the challenge very perfectly.
Still the biggest question for many of us is What is COTM and Why COTM?
Here I am trying to explain it. Castaway on the Moon is a community in Bangladesh that supports and promotes all forms of artists of all Mediums. From painting, drawing, cooking, dancing, poetry to Comedy and magic, writing and many more.
Bangladesh has never been an ideal place for artists. In this country, the general public wants to control the artist's thoughts. Which is the biggest challenge. Nevertheless, many well known artists have come out and made ourselves proud. In such a situation we have tried to create cotm as a platform for practicing art. Where artists will find freedom, will have the courage to think like themselves, will have the opportunity to present their creations to the world.
With so many small steps, and then after overcoming many ups and downs, today is the one year anniversary of cotm. While the beginning is simple, the place where I and COTM stand today is certainly a source of pride. I want to thank everyone who stood by us for a moment throughout the journey. Thanks to my fellow Executives, without them it would have been a journey almost impossible.
Although the beginning is from zero, but now at this stage we are here just for people’s love. We want to go a long way with you guys, We want to do something that no one has done before, We hope to have you by our side in the near future. Thank You
