Gary N. Jones has been an attorney for over 33 years and has spent most of the last 20 years focusing on the needs of community providers. He obtained his bachelors degree from the University of Missouri in 1982 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1985. He founded MCA to help providers through the maze of compliance and HIPAA regulations that seem to become more confusing every year so those providers can focus on what they do best, take care of people.
Gary approaches the topic of HIPAA in a whole new way. Forms, policies, etc. are written in Plain English because if employees can’t understand a policy there is very little chance they can follow it. Employees who become engaged in a HIPAA compliance program see it as relevant and important rather than something to be endured. Engaged employees enhance the effectiveness of the HIPAA program and an effective program can save a provider thousands of dollars.
Gary is the author of “Do The Right Thing – a roadmap to building an effective compliance program” and has served as legal counsel to the Iowa Associate for Community Providers for many years
