The phenomenon of 'faith' encompasses social and psychological principles, through which humans of every era and continent have sought to codify belief in an ineffable and transcendent yet pervasive vitality or principle. And this 'faith' provides the pivot around which diverse 'faiths', religions, and spiritual paradigms revolve. For the earlier parts of human history, the expression of faith was environmentally embedded in specific locales, and the structure of 'society' and 'community' was inseparable from the singular specific faith of its members. However, with migration, societies and communities became host to those of differing faiths, presenting challenges at a social and psychological level. Today, almost every national society is multi-faith in nature, commissioning all members to meet challenges arising from difference in belief. The Interfaith Collaborations Project seeks to understand the nature of these challenges, and identify ways in which those of differing faiths can collaborate in pursuit of common goals.
