Currier Forest Products is a small, family owned and operated sawmill located in Danville, Vermont. We produce timbers, flooring, lumber, wide boards, and exotic specialty woods for builders and timber framers, architects and interior designers, furniture makers, and luthiers, boat builders and historic preservationists – all sustainably harvested and custom milled to order. We harvest a wide variety of wood types, such as tamarack, cedar, hemlock, spruce, maple, ash, yellow birch, beech, butternut, and cherry and add value to our timber through processes such as charring. We carefully select and mill our wood products to meet the specific needs of our clients. Both the forest management and the sawmill in Danville are Forest Stewardship Council Certified Chain of Custody. The FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. The lumber, timbers and boards produced by Currier’s from these well-managed forests meet the highest standard of approval for ensuring a “sustainable” forest product. For instance, we do not drag or skid logs through the woods. Instead, we build roads through the forest for rolling the fallen trees out on forwarders. This greatly minimizes the erosion within the forest.
