CRUSH is a dedicated facility within the Centre for Virus Research (CVR), a national centre for virus research established in 2010 as a partnership between University of Glasgow and the Medical Research Council in the UK. CRUSH collaborates with academic & industry partners to provide a range of research services encompassing drug screening, drug resistance studies, serology/neutralisation assay, inactivation studies and fully custom projects. Within our CL2 and CL3 facilities we can work with a range of viruses including SARS-CoV-2, mpox, dengue virus, influenza a, rotavirus, respiratory syncytial virus, enteroviruses, seasonal coronaviruses, and other viral pathogens. CRUSH has both the infrastructure and expertise to take the initial in vitro screening of antiviral compounds through to functional studies and on to pre-clinical animal models for efficacy evaluation of promising candidates.
