The goal of this group is to help PhD graduates, near graduates, dropouts, and other scientists learn Data Science and have access to DS jobs in the industry.
The group started with around 10 students found with word-of-mouth. Of those, 2 have actively started to find jobs around 6 months into the training, and both found Data Science jobs within around 3-4 months of applying. The remaining ones are either staying in academia, or focusing on their PhD/post-doc before searching for jobs.
The vision is a moonshot: to transform how Portuguese companies view science by having more and more scientists working at companies, which will then naturally help establish collaborations with universities. And along the way help people find good jobs in good careers.
