Das Daten Competence Center e. V. (DCC) mit Sitz in Herford, Ostwestfalen, ist ein eigenständiger, nicht gewinnorientierter Verein. Derzeit sind Unternehmen aus der Küchen-, Bad-, Polster- und Wohnmöbelindustrie, der Zulieferer sowie aus der Software-Branche und dem Möbelhandel als Mitglieder im DCC organisiert.
Das DCC koordiniert und fördert Standardisierungsmaßnahmen, übernimmt die Koordination der Datenanlage und -generierung und bietet die nötigen Erfassungs- und Validierungstools an. Wichtige Entwicklungen des Vereins sind das einheitliche, standardisierte Datenformat IDM Möbel („Integriertes Datenmodell“) mit weitreichenden Applikationen für Küche/Bad, Polster- und Wohnmöbel sowie der Stammdatenserver cat(at)web.
Fachgremien sind die branchenzweigspezifischen Beiräte und Arbeitskreise, 3D- und EDI-Arbeitskreise. Das DCC zeichnet für die internationale Klassifizierung für "Möbel/Wohneinrichtung" im Sachgebiet 50 von eCl@ss verantwortlich, ist über die Nutzung des Datenformats IDM weltweit präsent und wird von etwa 70 Mitgliedern getragen.
