Ontwikkelingsgericht Onderwijs
De Archipel heeft in augustus 2008 haar deuren feestelijk geopend: een nieuwe school voor ontwikkelingsgericht onderwijs op IJburg!
Naast het leren lezen, schrijven, rekenen en wereldoriëntatie staat de brede ontwikkeling centraal. We gaan op zoek naar wat kinderen interessant vinden, wat willen kinderen weten? Welke vragen hebben ze? We werken op De Archipel met thema´s. We gaan daarbij altijd op zoek naar hoe het er in de echte wereld uitziet, want ons onderwijs bereidt kinderen voor op deelname aan de samenleving.
De school valt onder het bestuur van de Amsterdamse Stichting voor Katholiek Onderwijs.
De Archipel is gehuisvest in een prachtig gebouw aan de Bert Haanstrakade met uitzicht op het IJmeer!
De school is met 5 groepen gestart en heeft momenteel 13 groepen. De missie van het enthousiaste en betrokken team is om van De Archipel een veilige school te maken waarin kinderen in een uitdagende omgeving optimaal kunnen leren.
