De Commandostichting stelt zich ten doel de belangen te behartigen van de doelgroep, zijnde eenieder die, hetzij als militair, dan wel als burgerambtenaar, bij het Korps Commandotroepen nu in actieve dienst is of gediend heeft. Hierbij gaat onze speciale aandacht uit naar erkenning, waardering, zorg en belangenbehartiging van de veteranen en postactieve. Daarnaast bevordert De Commandostichting de kameraadschap, verbondenheid en onderlinge steunverlening van deze doelgroep door het uitvoeren van verschillende activiteiten. De uitgave van ons informatief en kleurrijk magazine “De Groene Baret” en de organisatie van de vijfjaarlijkse grote reünie zijn hier een voorbeelden van. Tenslotte zijn de voortzetting van de tradities en de bevordering van de goede naam van het Korps Commandotroepen als doel gesteld. Dit doen we o.m. door een historische collectie van het Korps Commandotroepen museum in stand te houden en verschillende herdenkingen te organiseren.
