Het Jacobusteam werkt in leerpleinen, waarbinnen extra aandacht is voor de verschillende niveaus van de leerlingen. Leerkrachten zijn binnen hun plein expert in hun eigen vakgebieden. Elk plein heeft naast de leerkrachten de ondersteuning van een onderwijsassistent. Daarnaast vinden wij betekenisvol lesgeven waarbij leerlingen hun zintuigen gebruiken van groot belang. Wij geloven erin dat als wij lessen aanbieden waarin de leerlingen zien en ontdekken, het leren ook beter gaat.
Naast de basisvakken zoals spelling, rekenen, taal en begrijpend lezen, proberen we de kinderen zo breed mogelijk hun talenten te laten ontdekken. In samenwerking met de vakdocenten van Vakmanstad geven wij les in bijvoorbeeld filosofie, techniek, groen&gezond, mindfulness en judo.
Met ons team werken wij met aan de professionele cultuur a.d.h.v. stichting Leerkracht. Dit betekent dat wij geregeld kort (15 minuten) vergaderen, op basis van onze ontwikkeldoelen. Deze korte momenten zijn afwisselend per bouw of met het gehele team.
