In 2015 is de Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen een maatschappelijk initiatief gestart: de Start Academy. Het trainingsprogramma op het gebied van persoonlijk leiderschap heeft als doel om jongeren (16-24) de ruimte en vrijheid te bieden om na te denken over zichzelf, het leven en de toekomst. Het helpt hen te ontdekken wie ze zijn, wat ze kunnen en wat ze willen om van daaruit een keuze te kunnen maken voor de toekomst, een keuze die past bij hun persoonlijkheid.
Het programma blijkt effectief. Jongeren die worstelen met hun identiteit en studiekeuze geven unaniem aan baat te hebben gehad bij het programma.
