We take the by-catch of the harmful and invasive common shore crabs and make our protein supplements, with protein contents ranging from 40% to 70% raw protein, and just the right composition of valuable amino acids, Decameal is ideal for a large range of feeds across the whole sector.
So who are we, you ask? We are Happylan and Leander, both biologists, with a specialization in management and ecology of aquatic ecosystems. Happylan is head of production development and handles most of the new production methods and testing. Leander is head of administration and communications, and handles all contact with investors, partners, and customers.
We started our project through a course in “Bio-entrepreneurship” at AU in 2020 where the idea was hatched and have worked on it since while finishing our degrees. Since we graduated in 2021, we have been working around to clock to make Decameal a reality.
The hard work has resulted in soft funding from both Innovationsfonden, Fonden for entreprenørskab, Food & Bio Cluster Denmark, and many more.
