Der DGHM-Hauptpreis wird an aktive Wissenschaftler*innen mit hervorragender Forschungstätigkeit verliehen, die Förderpreise an jüngere Wissenschaftler*innen für innovative Forschungsansätze, die beiden von bioMérieux und BD gesponserten Forschungs- bzw. Diagnostikpreise für innovativen Anwendungsbezug und die Promotionspreise für hervorragende Dissertationen.
Herausragende Publikationen von DGHM-Mitglieder mit dem "Paper of the Month" und dem "Highlight in der Infektionsprävention und klinischen Mikrobiologie" gewürdigt.
