Established in 1975, Diwan Press is an illustrious name in English language, Islamic publishing with a distinguished catalogue of works on Islam and Sufism. It was re-established in 2008 to place this existing catalogue before readers and to bring out an exciting range of new titles.
Diwan Press is taking Islamic publishing forward, utilising audio, video and e-books as well as more traditional publishing media: books, journals and magazines.
Diwan Press publish ePub and Kindle versions of The Noble Qur’an – a new rendering of its meanings in English by renowned husband and wife translators Abdalhaqq and Aisha Bewley, Al-Muwatta of Imam Malik, Muhammad Messenger of Allah, the translation of ash-Shifa of Qadi ‘Iyad, his Foundations of Islam, important contemporary works such as Banking – the Root Cause of the Injustices of Our Time edited by Abdalhalim Orr and Abdassamad Clarke, The African Caliphate by Ibraheem Sulaiman on the Caliphate of Shaykh Uthman dan Fodio, and The Way of Muhammad by Shaykh Dr. Abdalqadir as-Sufi.
Diwan Press specialises in works on the fiqh of the School of Madina as transmitted by Imam Malik, including Islam in the School of Madina by Shaykh Ahmad ibn al-Basheer al-Qalaawi ash-Shinqeeti, and the book on which it is a commentary, Al-Murshid al-Mu‘een by Abdalwahid ibn ‘Ashir.
We are also well known for works on the Tasawwuf of the Sunna such as the famed Darqawi Way, which contains the letters of Shaykh Moulay al-‘Arabi ad-Darqawi to his murids, as well as contemporary works dealing with the world situation today and its history, both in the lands of the Muslims and the West. Among the latter are key works of Shaykh Dr. Abdalqadir as-Sufi such as Sultaniyya on the nature of political authority in Islam, and his Technique of the Coup de Banque on the foundation of the modern state in the French Revolution and the hand that finance plays in that today.
