Dè school midden in Amsterdam met een van de grootste schoolpleinen. Onderdeel van Stichting Openbaar onderwijs aan de Amstel.
De prachtig monumentale Dongeschool, in stijl van de Amsterdamse School, bestaat sedert 1930 en is ontstaan vanuit het stedelijk bouwkundig plan van ingenieur Berlage voor de mooie Rivierenbuurt van de hand van Nicolaas Lansdorp.
Het mooie grote plein is veilig omheind en heeft een, aan het plein gelegen, sporthal waar de leerlingen gymles hebben. Ook naschoolse opvang vanuit Dons gebeurd binnen de school ook heeft de Dongeschool een samenwerking met inpandige voorschool De Krekels van Dynamo Amsterdam.
Onze school heeft zo'n 430 leerlingen. Wij proberen het optimale uit de leerlingen te halen. Dit doen we door naast de cognitieve ontwikkeling ook aandacht te bieden aan de sociaal-emotionele, creatieve, sportieve, culturele én technische ontwikkeling van de leerlingen.
