The dPMR Association is a membership organisation established in 2007 to promote awareness of the dPMR digital communications protocol to professional users around the world. The Association is responsible for the independent validation and accreditation of interworking between dPMR products and equipment from different manufacturers to ETSI standards through interoperability tests.
The dPMR digital radio protocol was specifically developed to deliver highly functional solutions by employing low cost and low complexity technology. dPMR is a narrowband (6,25 kHz) FDMA technology that is 100% digital and offers many forms of voice and/or data applications. The FDMA protocol specified in both TS102 490 and TS102 658 ETSI standards complies with the European Harmonised Standard EN301 166-2 for use in 6.25 kHz channels.
dPMR is an open, multi-vendor standard which offers choice and provides best value through interoperability testing, certification and awareness of the standard, its capabilities and different operating Modes.
Membership to the dPMR Association is open to any manufacturer, supplier, user group, administration or laboratory that shares its aims of participating in and promoting narrowband and ultra-narrowband FDMA technology.
