What on earth is Dr Sketchy's? Well… we are a bunch of like-minded creatives who aim to put the fun back into life-drawing. With a wink and smile and a well-placed nipple tassel, each art-class sees a burlesque model or circus performer ascend the stage in a fabulous costume to strike various poses for your sketching pleasure. You might be a serious Artist working on a masterpiece, but most of us just plunge through a few surreal exercises, enjoying the drinks, dames, dudes and doodling! Why should I come along? For the joy of love and art and all things beautiful! And so we can all giggle as if we were 14 again. Ok… when is it then? Dr Sketchy's Edinburgh takes place on the second Sunday of every month (except January, when we are far too cold and hungover) from 3pm - 6pm at The Jazz Bar, 1a Chambers Street, Edinburgh. Can I get a ticket please? You can book in advance if you like or just show up on the day with hard cash. Full price tickets are £7 and concessions £6. You can bring along your own art materials if you like, but we do provide all the paper you will need, plus a plethora of pencils, pens, pastels and crayons (for the five year old in all of us). I think I am in love… Yeah, we have that effect sometimes.
