The D.R.A.M.P. project (Diversion, Restorative and Mediation Procedures in PIF Crimes) is a research Project carried out by a Team of researchers from the Law Department of the University of Perugia. It has been funded by the European Commission - OLAF (European Anti-Fraud Office), as part of the Hercule III Programme.
The project aims to enhance legal and judicial cooperation between EU Member States in cases relevant to the newly established European Public Prosecutor Office (the “EPPO”), particularly crimes against the EU financial interests. The DRAMP’s core action is to collate information relating to the national rules and procedures in force in each EU Member State on alternative dispute settlement and diversion applicable in cases of fraud offences and to assess their compatibility with the principles of restorative justice and EU law.
The research is coordinated by Professor Alessandra Lanciotti (International and EU law) and carried out by a highly qualified team of researchers from the Perugia Law Department which includes Professors M. Montagna (European and international criminal procedure), V. Valentini (criminal law), S. Cociani (Tax law), R. Fonti (criminal procedure), S. Sartarelli (criminal law) and S. Vezzani (International and EU Law), in cooperation with distinguished lawyers and academics throughout Europe and members of the Association for European Criminal Law and for the Protection of the EU Financial Interests. The project has received several adhesions from experts and professionals from different Member States.
The collected data will be analysed and finally, the outcome of this study will be discussed during an International Conference, open to the public and gathering academics, lawyers, practitioners and other relevant stakeholders, to be held in Perugia on 28-29 April 2022.
