“Play, Practice and Perform” (3Ps) – the motto that has led Drum Asia Studio (DAS) from the beginning continues to inspire their vision and mission to today. Founded in 2014, in Desa Sri Hartamas, DAS began as a single jamming studio with the mission of the founding brothers, Michael and Nicholas Thomas Philip, to provide fellow musicians with an affordable place to jam with the best possible equipment.
As the popularity of DAS grew so did the need for expansion. A second jamming/stage and performance area fully equipped with sound and light facilities, was built, offering an in-house area to follow the 3Ps motto. But they didn’t stop there with the recent opening of a second branch in Kota Damansara, which not only offers a jamming studio, but also a recording studio. DAS Hartamas has also added its third jamming studio.
Alongside the growth of the jamming studios, Nicholas has pursued his passion for live sound through Drum Asia Live (DAL). DAL is able to provide sound and light equipment, and technical support for all sizes of shows, both indoor and outdoor.
DAL has an impressive portfolio of past shows, for both local and international artists, and provides excellent technical production with its experienced crew.
With the brother’s respective passions in their fields of music and audio engineering, patrons of DAS and DAL can look forward to new and inspirational developments. Michael and Nicholas envision a bright future for the Malaysian music industry and aim to play for a major role in the inspiration and encouragement of all musicians from the very beginner to the most accomplished.
