I created DAD (Dads Appreciating Dads) because often our work goes unappreciated and taken for granted. It is often a given that we go to work and in most cases in Hong Kong, it is even a must that both parents need to work. However, men are also expected to take on a father role with their children, at all times, find the energy to follow their sporting pursuits and are expected to be able to plan holidays, find time to organise parties, drive family around and much more. Our energy is not limitless and we too need down time to recharge and relax. This is often easier said than done. We don’t have all the answers, we don’t know where the best places to eat and the best places to go. Often we do need our sleep but we do our best to help out and largely remain reserved and soldier on with our chores.
Dad is a forum for Dads to meet and talk with fellow fathers about anything and everything. We can meet informally or formally and discuss anything we want and share ideas, information and experience with like-minded adults. Being able to meet in the city and just relax and talk uninhibited, is in itself, a rarity and a luxury unafforded to us. Finally a club that aims to sell nothing, but allow the guys to be themselves from time to time...
