Dutch Modular Fest is een jonge, nieuwe speler in een netwerk van podia en evenementen waar de stichting autonoom programmeert. Wat begonnen is als een kleinschalig feest, dat in 2016 werd georganiseerd door Jan Willem Hagenbeek (Ginkosynthese) als opening van zijn nieuwe atelier in De Besturing te Den Haag.
In 2018 wordt een verdere professionalisering ingezet door het opzetten van een stichting.
Het bestuur wordt gevormd door personen die onafhankelijk van elkaar evenementen organiseren waar de modulaire synthesizer centraal staat. Deze evenementen zorgen voor een landelijke dekking: Noodlebar (Rotterdam), Modulab (Eindhoven), Modulation (Utrecht) en Voltage Control Amsterdam (Amsterdam). Hierdoor staat Dutch Modular Fest dicht bij haar scene.
Dutch Modular Fest is in staat een unieke combinatie te maken tussen een eigen programmatische koers – breed programmeren en het presenteren van een niche.
Stichting Dutch Modular Fest heeft als doel: Het bieden van een podium voor bestaand en aankomend talent van makers,muzikanten en kunstenaars die gebruik maken van (experimentele en vernieuwende) elektronische instrumenten waarbij het delen van kennis centraal staat.
