Dutch Daylight promoot optimale toepassing van daglicht in de gebouwde omgeving.
Sinds 2004 zet Stichting Living Daylights zich actief in om daglicht de centrale plek terug te geven, welke ze in de architectuur en de gebouwde omgeving ooit had en meer dan ooit verdient. In 2018 heeft de vernieuwende stichting de naam Dutch Daylight aangenomen. Het platform wil niet alleen architecten, vormgevers en stedenbouwkundigen wijzen op de hoge potentie van daglicht, maar ook opdrachtgevers, beleidsmakers en andere betrokken partijen bewust maken van het belang van goed gebruik van daglicht.
Om die doelstelling te bereiken stimuleert en ondersteunt de stichting onderzoek naar zowel nieuwe stedenbouwkundige en architectonische concepten als nieuwe technische mogelijkheden. Het platform streeft hierbij tevens naar een bundeling en goede ontsluiting van kennis over de toepassingen van daglicht in gebouwen. Op deze manier kunnen belangstellenden inspiratie opdoen en met kennis en referentieprojecten anderen overtuigen van het gebruik van daglicht. In 2004 was het onontgonnen daglichtgebied reden om de stichting op te richten. Er is vooruitgang geboekt, maar daglicht in architectuur is actueler dan ooit.
Dutch Daylight organiseert verschillende activiteiten om haar doelen te bereiken. Sinds enkele jaren wordt het daglichtcafé georganiseerd, een combinatie tussen korte lezingen en een netwerkborrel. Excursies naar bijzondere daglichtprojecten worden georganiseerd, zodat gebouwen beleefd kunnen worden. Ook worden lezingen georganiseerd om state of the art innovaties en kennis te delen.
Het meest bekende initiatief van Dutch Daylight is de Dutch Daylight Award. Deze tweejaarlijkse kwaliteitsprijs is in 2008 in het leven geroepen om bijzondere daglichtarchitectuur te belonen en onder de aandacht te brengen onder een breed publiek, zodat dit als inspiratie kan werken voor toekomstige bouwprojecten.
