Die Entwicklungsagentur Rheinland-Pfalz e. V. wurde 2003 vom Ministerium des Innern und für Sport Rheinland-Pfalz und der Rheinland-Pfälzischen Technischen Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau gegründet.
Die Mitglieder des Vereins kommen aus Wissenschaft, Verwaltung, Non-Profit-Organisationen, Politik sowie aus der Landes- und der Kommunalverwaltung.
Die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter haben eine mehrjährige Berufserfahrung. Zu den Fachrichtungen im EA-Team gehören u. a. Politikwissenschaft, Soziologie, Geographie, Germanistik, Pädagogik, Journalismus und Volkswirtschaftslehre. Hinzu kommen Erfahrungen in der ehrenamtlichen kommunalen Praxis.
Gesellschaftliche, technologische oder wirtschaftliche Veränderungen und ihre Auswirkungen auf die Kommunen bilden das breite Aufgabenfeld des EA-Teams.
Die Entwicklungsagentur Rheinland-Pfalz arbeitet mit unterschiedlichen Partnern aus Verwaltung, Forschung, Wirtschaft und Zivilgesellschaft zusammen.
Ein wichtiges Ziel ist es, praxisnahe und übertragbare Lösungsansätze zu entwickeln: Die neuen Lösungsansätze sollen innovativ und für die Kommunen finanziell und organisatorisch eigenständig umsetzbar sein und in bestehenden Strukturen funktionieren.
Regelmäßige Arbeitsfragen sind: Wie leben wir in 20 Jahren? Wie nutzen wir die Digitalisierung für das Leben in ländlichen Gemeinden? Wie können wir uns an den Klimawandel anpassen? Wie meistern wir die Herausforderungen des demografischen Wandels? Antworten auf diese Fragen finden sich in einem dichten Geflecht aus Neugier, Forschung, Kooperation und Experimentierfreude.
