丽江市生态保护与发展协会，成立于2005年，是在丽江市民政局注册的非盈利性环保组织， 业务主管单位为丽江市科协。协会致力于丽江的生物多样性保护和社区的可持续发展。主要工作方向是保护丽江市范围内的高山森林和高原湿地生态系统，以及围绕着这两个工作方向而开展的社区可持续发展、环境教育和公众参与活动。目前正在开展的项有联合国开发计划署全球环境基金减缓气候变化项目、三江并流老君山社区可再生能源综合示范项目、丽江拉市海国际重要湿地科普宣教项目、拉市海社区参与保护南尧村生态旅游项目等。
丽江市生态保护与发展协会协会主要致力于丽江的生态保护和可持续发展。 协会工作策略主要有四个方面。
（一）推动和支持社区参与保护：目前主要与玉龙县林草局和玉龙县野生动植物保护协会合作，推动老君山滇金丝猴工作站的完善，参与滇金丝猴的巡护，通过红外线相机等监测滇金丝猴和野生动物；培训本地巡护员成为自然生态向导，在参与保护的同时，获得可持续的经济收入；在应对气候变化方面，实施全球环境基金小额赠款项目，为老君山利苴村的社区提供新式节柴炉灶，以减少新柴的消耗，同时促进家庭环境卫生。
（二）为保护机构和景区等工作人员提供培训：目前主要为拉市海保护区管护局和拉市海湿地公园提供员工技能培训，主要内容包括鸟类和动植物监测、水质监测、社区工作、宣教和解说等；希望跟保护地形成长期的战略合作，资源共享，发挥各自的特长。
（三）推动公众关注自然保护：目前主要通过自然教育教材编写、学校和假期的自然教育课程实施、跟图书馆开展公开课、让公众参与候鸟调查、水质监测等公民科学实践活动等来推动公众对自然的热爱、关注和保护。
（四）积极参与到丽江的可持续发展战略中：参与《拉市海省级高原湿地生态旅游方案》和 《泸沽湖生态旅游方案》的规划，为保护地的可持续旅游发展提供见解。同时也希望加入到《旅游方案》的实施中。
