O ΕΔΟΕΑΠ είναι το ασφαλιστικό Ταμείο όλων των εργαζομένων στα Μέσα Ενημέρωσης. Καλύπτει περίπου 27.000 ασφαλισμένους, από τον έντυπο και ηλεκτρονικό Τύπο σε όλη την Ελλάδα, προσφέροντας υψηλού επιπέδου ιατρικές υπηρεσίες. Εξ αυτών, 18.000 περίπου είναι άμεσα ασφαλισμένοι, 8.500 έμμεσα ασφαλισμένοι (καλύπτονται μόνον με υγειονομική περίθαλψη) και οι υπόλοιποι είναι δικαιοδόχοι. Ο Οργανισμός παρέχει ιατροφαρμακευτική και νοσοκομειακή περίθαλψη και πρόνοια στους εν ενεργεία εργαζομένους-μέλη του καθώς, επίσης, την περίθαλψη και την επικούρηση στους συνταξιούχους-μέλη του.
Διαθέτει ιδιόκτητα πολυϊατρεία σε Αθήνα και Θεσσαλονίκη και εκατοντάδες συμβεβλημένους ιατρούς είτε απευθείας είτε μέσω παρόχων υγείας σε όλη τη χώρα.
Είναι ΝΠΙΔ, ενδεκαμελούς διοίκησης, με 10 αιρετά μέλη και 1 εκπρόσωπο των εργοδοτών, διοριζόμενο από το υπουργείο Εργασίας. Aπασχολεί 226 εργαζομένους, ιατρικών, νοσηλευτικών, παραϊατρικών, διοικητικών και τεχνικών-βοηθητικών υπηρεσιών.
