Elephantstay is an elephantastic way for you to get hands-on experience & make a real difference to the lives of our retired elephants. The formation of Elephantstay is to care for the retired elephants and give the public an immersive hands-on experience whilst making a real contribution to these magnificent animals in a unique program in a working elephant village to learn about all aspects of Asian elephants. The establishment of the Prakochabaan Foundation to protect the elephants future is dedicated to:
* conserving elephants both in domesticity and the wild;
* rescuing elephants in need;
* education and lobbying for better Laws for elephants in Thailand;
* helping other elephant owners/centres; and
* responsible tourism.

Background: Ayutthaya Elephant Palace and Royal Elephant Kraal Village was founded by Laithongrien (Om) Meepan and his family in 1996 to get begging elephants off the street and give them safe, secure and legal work. What started as a small project in 1996 to help elephants, has turned into the most influential elephant centre in Thailand.
