Das Institut für Entrepreneurship, Mittelstand und Familienunternehmen (EMF-Institut) ist eine interdisziplinäre Forschungseinrichtung der Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (HWR).
Das EMF-Institut löst die Wirtschaftswissenschaften aus der klassischen Betrachtung als eine “Lehre für den Betrieb von Großunternehmen” heraus und rückt den Mittelstand, Familienunternehmen und Unternehmensgründer in den Mittelpunkt der Forschung. Das EMF-Institut entwickelt neue Forschungsfragen und transportiert Forschungsergebnisse verstärkt in Fachwelt, Öffentlichkeit und Lehre.
Durch die interdisziplinäre Bündelung seiner Disziplinen will das EMF-Institut folgende Ziele erreichen:
- Handlungsbedarf für die Lehre identifizieren und in innovative Lehrinhalte und Lehrformen vor allem für HWR-Studiengänge umsetzen,
- die Themen des Forschungsinstituts zu Kernkompetenzen der HWR Berlin entwickeln,
- Forschungsergebnisse transferieren durch gezielte Bündelung von Praxiskontakten und die Durchführung kooperativer (Drittmittel-) Projekte.
In Veranstaltungen und Forschungsprojekten werden dabei die Akteure aus Praxis und Theorie so vernetzt, dass Synergieeffekte für alle Beteiligten entstehen.
