Our charity was established in memory of Emily, who was born with Trisomy 18 and touched many lives during her short but impactful 26 days. Following her passing, we created Emily's Star to honor her legacy and provide vital support to families facing similar challenges.
Since 2012, we’ve supported thousands of families in Milton Keynes and beyond. From birth, we offer practical assistance by supplying Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) with essential items, including boxes, clothing, and supplies for babies born sleeping, prematurely, or underweight. These items are kept onsite and distributed directly to families when needed. Additionally, we support the children’s ward, Ward 21B, and the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) with toiletries, arts and crafts supplies, lingerie, and more.
Through our neonatal mini packs, a compact version of our neonatal boxes, we also extend support to neonatal units across the UK.
Beyond the hospital, we provide ongoing assistance to children and young adults aged 0–25 with complex needs. Our services for registered families include memory-making activities, one-to-one support, group sessions, grant wishes, family events, and more.
At the heart of our work is a dedicated team passionate about understanding each family’s unique needs. By building meaningful relationships, we deliver personalized and impactful support.
Although we are a small organization, we are driven by commitment and rely on the invaluable help of a small group of volunteers to achieve our charitable goals.
