EpsiMu® is a user-friendly and autonomous device used to measure the electromagnetic properties of materials - the complex dielectric permittivity, complex magnetic permeability, conductivity, and loss tangent. Numerous research domains involving wave transmission rely on the knowledge of electromagnetic properties of materials to understand how electromagnetic waves interact with materials. These properties are furthermore directly related to secondary parameters, such as frequency, temperature, density and moisture content of the target material. The patent protected EpsiMu® system is composed of two different coaxial transmission lines, each one designed for different types of materials and covering different frequency ranges. EpsiMu® 7mm allows characterizing solid materials from 10 MHz up to 18 GHz; EpsiMu® PE13 can be used to characterize any sort of materials (liquids, powders, gels, solids) from 10 MHz up to 8 GHz. EpsiMu® offers two convenient options for our clients who wish to confirm the properties indicated by their material supplier, to know the influence of temperature and density variations and/or moisture in substrate materials, or simply to assess an unknow material. For our clients who wish to have their materials efficiently tested by our professional team, we offer EpsiMu® measurement services of any type of material, as function of frequency, temperature and/or moisture content, providing complete reports with data processing and analysis. Measurements can be executed in Multiwave’s lab facility in France, or in-situ, for active and efficient investigative procedures. As an alternative, we propose the EpsiMu® complete kit, including both cells, a post-processing software (EpsiMu® v5.0) and the necessary tools to assemble the cells and to connect them to a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
