Welkom op de site van dé rugbyclub in Enschede, ERC ’69. Al sinds 1969 jaar de plek in Enschede en heel Twente om in contact te komen met de rugbysport en alles wat met rugby te maken heeft.
Wat is rugby?
Wereldwijd gezien is rugby een van de meest gespeelde sporten, vergelijkbaar met voetbal. Het is een nationale sport in landen als Groot-Brittanië, Australië, Frankrijk, Italië en Nieuw-Zeeland. Iedere week genieten jong en oud, man en vrouw, van de uitdagingen die het rugbyspel biedt.
Rugby combineert techniek, fysieke kracht, uithoudingsvermogen, snelheid en honderd procent inzet tot een fantastisch teamspel. Ook in nederland raken steeds meer mensen enthousiast over de voldoening, respect en de kameraadschap die rugby biedt.
Daarnaast is het een sport voor iedereen. Bij rugby komt het niet alleen op kracht, je hebt naast sterke kerels ook snelle mannen nodig. Het komt aan op wendbaarheid om tackles te ontwijken, techniek om de bal te trappen en tactiek. Groot of klein, dik of dun, iedereen draagt op zijn manier bij aan het team. In een rugbyteam hebben we 15 verschillende posities en bij iedereen past een positie!
