ESDiT is a 10-year international research programme of seven academic institutions working on breakthrough research at the intersections of ethics, philosophy, technology and society. ESDiT aims to develop a comprehensive philosophical understanding of emerging technologies as socially disruptive technologies (SDTs), and their challenge to the concepts and values we appeal to in our moral thinking.
Funded by the NWO Gravitation Programme, ESDiT is striving t meet the need to develop new moral frameworks for SDTs for the well-being of humanity. The programme includes four research lines: “Nature, life & Human intervention”, “The Future of a Free & Fair Society”, “The Human Condition”, and “Synthesis: Ethics of Technology, Practical Philosophy & Modern Technology-driven Societies”
