EUROLAB-Deutschland ist seit 1993 ein eingetragener Verein.
Prüflaboratorien des öffentlichen und privaten Bereiches sind ebenso vertreten wie Verbände, die über 1000 Einzellaboratorien repräsentieren.
Darüber hinaus sind viele der bei der Europäischen Union für Zertifizierungsaufgaben notifizierten deutschen Stellen Mitglied in EUROLAB-Deutschland.
Mit der Fusion mit Eurachem/D im Jahr 2003 wurde auch die Möglichkeit einer persönlichen Mitgliedschaft geschaffen.
Der Verein hat den Zweck, die wissenschaftlich-technische Entwicklung im Prüfwesen zu fördern durch:
Zusammenarbeit mit technisch-wissenschaftlichen Vereinigungen ähnlicher Zielsetzung auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene, insbesondere mit den europäischen Organisationen EUROLAB aisbl und Eurachem;
Förderung der wechselseitigen Anerkennung von Prüfergebnissen;
Vereinheitlichung der Anforderungen an das Qualitätsmanagement in Prüflaboratorien auf internationaler Ebene;
Herbeiführung einer einheitlichen Auffassung über die technischen und analytisch chemischen Aspekte des Qualitätsmanagements und anderer relevanter Managementsysteme.
