The Student EuroTech Cup is a two-day startup pitch competition and networking event that showcases the best university student talent and tech in Europe. The Student EuroTech Cup brings together the very best student startups, as well as showcasing the work of other student innovators, while promoting the mission of European university student startup programs and the importance of higher education’s role in European innovation. The tournament also creates an opportunity for industry leaders and students to network and discuss innovation in our changing world. This event builds on the five-year success of Student Startup Madness (SSM), an American national collegiate tournament for student digital media startups, culminating in a high-profile SSM Finals event at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. As with SSM, Student EuroTech Cup will hold early rounds of competition online and is open to student startups from any university in Europe. The finals will then take place at a venue in Europe, with student startups in Europe pitching to an international panel of well-known entrepreneurs and investors. Student EuroTech Cup programming will include young startups in technology areas, such as Augmented & Virtual Reality; Enterprise & Smart Data; Entertainment & Media; Health & Wearables; Payment & FinTech; Security & Privacy; Social & Culture; Sports; Transportation; and more. Producers of the Student EuroTech Cup have technology, startup and university expertise – as creators and producers of Student Startup Madness and programs for South by Southwest (SXSW), Kauffman Foundation, NASA and other pitch and technology events – as well as university-based entrepreneurship initiatives; all discovering the best and brightest young talent and startups.
