"Our founding issue was meant to be personal. The team decided that evolve. would not only stand for what the word means itself, but also work to empower, create, and extend our writers, readers, artists, and photographers minds.
We wanted to jump off cliffs and see where we ended up on the way down. Needless to say this pushed publishing back, caused a massive amount of sleep deprivation, but created something transcendently original.
Each issue is comprised under one systematic theme that all articles, photographs, and art fall into. For the first issue, our four creators put together the idea of the reclaim. Reclaim most nearly means to bring under cultivation-- to recover something that was once lost.
Our cover is meant to exemplify just that. The “twiggy” girl from the sixties was different, simple, and iconic. She embodies a time of change and pushes an androgynous, unique look that stepped out of a given comfort zone..."
