The smart foreign exchange trading support system “EXANTAS” is a project co‐financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE (project code: Τ2ΕΔΚ-02063).
The aim of the project is to develop a holistic technological solution to predict the exchange rates’ movement and to address the lack of low-cost solutions for automated forex advice to citizens and small and medium-sized enterprises.
The EXANTAS system, by utilizing state-of-the-art machine learning, neural network models and large-scale data analytics, will be able to extract forecasts of exchange rates across multiple time horizons and with high predictive capabilities. Finally, the system will provide automated advice to the users for the execution of forex transactions in the best way and at the right time, taking into account their risk profile.
EXANTAS will be the first artificial intelligence technological solution, in the field of foreign exchange trading optimization, offered for low-volume foreign exchange transactions in the Greek and international forex market.

The Research University Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS, EPISEY) participates in this project with the Decision and Management Systems Laboratory (ESAD). The activities of the laboratory focus on the fields of Management, Decision Systems, Management Information Systems, Project Management and Energy Policy.
