Feeding From Far is an initiative that has been feeding the poor and unemployed who are struggling to feed themselves during the lockdown. We managed to distribute over 30 lakh meals to the needy since the first lockdown hit through cooked meals and ration kits.
Since the first lockdown, we have been taking care of several families in the largest & oldest waste dumping ground and slum in Mumbai - Govandi along with several other areas of Maharashtra like Machhimar Nagar in South Mumbai, Dharavi, Nallasopara, Mulund, and Chiplun in Ratnagiri. In these regions reside, migrants, daily wage workers, rickshaw drivers, rag pickers etc. - who were unemployed and struggling to afford basic food.
We've expanded our efforts whenever there was a necessity and the need was at its peak.
In July 2021, when Chiplun got devastated due to massive floods, our community leaders came forward and pledged to help all of those who were bit badly and lost their livelihoods.
Currently we work in Dharawi & Macchimaar Nagar and have fed more than 34 lac meals, and counting.
