Het doel van de Filana Foundation is het ondersteunen van mensen die onrecht werd, wordt of kan worden aangedaan in België. We kiezen bewust voor deze regio om het overzichtelijk te houden, dicht bij huis, en om een zichtbare impact te kunnen realiseren.
Er zijn - jammer genoeg - veel problematieken. Zelfs in een ‘welvarend’ land als België. We denken hierbij aan voor de hand liggende thema’s zoals armoede en mishandeling, maar dit is slechts het topje van de ijsberg.
Het zijn onderwerpen waar wel eens over gesproken wordt, maar vaak stopt het daar. Het is een latent probleem in de maatschappij. De Filana Foundation wil dit niet alleen bespreekbaar maken, maar wil de problematiek ook daadwerkelijk aanpakken. Dit kan gaan over het doorbreken van taboes, sensibilisering, empowerment en effectieve actie of een combinatie van al deze aspecten.
Belangrijk hierbij is het niet blijven hangen als slachtoffer, maar net in eigen kracht gaan staan om zowel de persoon zelf, maar ook anderen te inspireren, motiveren en empoweren.
