The FIS system is not only helpful for fishermen, but also an important tool for scientists involved in monitoring fish populations and assessing the state of water resources. Thanks to the FIS system, fishermen have real-time access to information on the location of fish shoals, enabling them to quickly and effectively respond to changing conditions at sea. In this way, the system contributes to the sustainable and economical use of marine resources, which is crucial for protecting our environment.
Background of the project, reasons and motives for launching the project
The current consumption of fish products and the observed trend of moving away from consuming meat products has led to an increase in the value of the fishing industry in Poland and worldwide. The trend in the years 2010-2023 shows that the fishing market has almost doubled. The above-average growth of the market has contributed to the emergence of monitoring centers and those specializing in granting food certificates.
Description of the idea's innovation
The innovation of the application consists in reaching fishing grounds that are less exploited and therefore less prone to degradation. Further development of the project will focus on identifying a specific species. The basic essence of the issue is to improve the work of fishermen in their daily work and to monitor fishing grounds. As a result, the system can contribute to generating temporarily excluded fishing areas and thus allow the population to naturally rebuild.
