it all started in august '24 when we, new students at Fisk, often got confused about simple things like orientation schedules and grew tired of switching between multiple apps to complete a single task. for example, we had three different platforms just for submitting assignments across all subjects. some used edstem, others used canvas, and another class used pearson. frustrated with this and full of energy to do something remarkable in the field of cs right from the first semester, we—manoj and suyog—decided to take on this project to create a platform that would (sort of) be a single hub for everything at Fisk.
for the web app, which manoj worked on, he created a demo launch video showcasing features like signing up, logging in, posting stuff, booking appointments with professors, viewing events happening at Fisk, and editing profiles. and... yeah, that was it!
we didn't continue after that!!!
it might be because we got lazy, or maybe we just didn’t feel the need for this "single platform" as we started getting used to the different platforms already used by students for years at Fisk. so..yeah..for now, we have decided to discontinue this project, but maybe in the future, if we ever get the urge to build something like fiskvibe again, you’ll see us back at it. for now, manoj and suyog will work on other projects they love and enjoy.
