Fit as a Farmer is a social enterprise that aims to create a community who cares about their health, as well as the health of Australian agriculture.
We use exercise inspired by farm-work as a fun way to mobilise conversation around the labour-intensive work our farmers do everyday to provide us with world class food and fibre. In doing so, we hope to educate people around the struggles our farmers face, from growing climate variability right through to poor access to mental health services. We hope these conversations help to create connection and appreciation for the heroes who support our urban lifestyle, and inspire you to ‘give back’.
We run classes everyday Saturday using equipment you would find lying around a farmers work shed. The class is followed by a charity BBQ (sourced from 100% Aussie-ingredients) where we donate 100% of the proceeds to rural charities.
