‘There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.’- John Green
Why come to counselling?
Counselling can help keep you on top of things, as well as support you when times are hard.
Often we struggle with more than just one thing in isolation, leading us to feel overwhelmed & unable to find a way forward.
You might be feeling some or all of these things:
Low
Lost
Despairing
Alone
Exhausted
Anxious
Trapped.
Or you might have specific problems such as addiction.
Counselling is a safe space just for you. The focus of our work will be you & what brings you to counselling.
Who am I?
I have a rounded disciplinary approach & as a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) I work to their codes of practice & ethics.
I have a background in disability (particularly neurodiversity), marginalisation/discrimination, addiction, chronic illness, eating disorders & trauma & all the psychological issues that can occur as a result including depression, anxiety, stress, burnout & relational problems.
What can you expect from talking therapy?
Firstly it’s important to remember that not only is it okay not to be okay, but it’s also normal. We all need help sometimes. This symptom list isn't exhaustive & in your sessions you can talk confidentially & openly about whatever is upsetting you. In our work together I will use a personalised, integrative, person centred & holistic therapeutic approach so that together we can unpick what is troubling you & work towards your brighter future.
I work in-person daytime, evenings, and weekends in a calm space with free parking. I work out of hours because I know how difficult it can be to fit time for ourselves into our already crowded lives.
Contact me for a free preliminary chat whether you’re looking for some space to reflect, would like some routine maintenance for your mental health or have a specific issue you’d like to work towards resolving.
