한국음악실연자연합회(줄여서 '음실련')는 저작인접권집중관리단체로서 음악실연자 (노래하는 가수, 지휘를 하는 지휘자, 악기를 연주하는 연주가 등)의 권익을 보호하고, 상호교류와 협력을 통하여 음악실연 활동의 증진을 기하며,
활동여건을 개선하기 위해 설립된 비영리 사단법인입니다.
음실련은 1986년 12월 개정된 저작권법에 의해 음악실연자의 저작인접권이 보호받게 되면서, 저작인접권의 보호 및 관리를 위해 1988년 8월 문화체육관광부의 법인설립 허가를 받게 되었으며, 같은 해 10월 판매용음반 방송보상금 수령단체로 지정되면서 저작인접권의 보호를 위한 단체가 되었습니다.
이후 2000년 11월 신탁관리업 허가를 받아 복제권, 방송권, 전송권 등을 행사하게 되었으며, 2008년 3월에는 디지털음성송신보상금 수령단체로, 2009년 9월에는 판매용음반 공연보상금 수령단체로 지정되면서 명실상부한 국내 유일의 음악실연자를 대표하는 신탁관리단체로 성장하게 되었습니다.
이 외에도 음실련은 국내외 여러 단체들과의 교류에 힘쓰고, 문화향상 발전에 기여한 단체와 개인에 대한 시상 및 공연활동 지원 등 실연자의 활동여건 개선을 위해 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있으며, 실연자의 복지향상, 저작권법 개정 등 실연자의 지위향상을 위한 정책적 기반을 마련하는데 앞장서고 있습니다.
