La Fondation Prometheus est une fondation d’entreprises créée en 2005 par Bernard Carayon ancien député (UMP) du Tarn, avocat au barreau de Paris et Jean-Michel Boucheron ancien député (PS) d’Ille-et-Vilaine, conseiller en charge des affaires stratégiques et de défense auprès du Président de l’Assemblée nationale.
Premier « Do Tank » français consacré à la mondialisation, la Fondation Prometheus est présidée par le député Bernard Carayon et bénéficie du soutien de près de dix grands groupes industriels et financiers français.
La Fondation vise à encourager les secteurs économiques stratégiques français dans un contexte de guerre économique, en produisant une « pensée opérationnelle ».
Soutenue par neuf grands groupes industriels, elle se fixe comme objectif l’analyse des enjeux de la mondialisation dans les secteurs stratégiques des économies française et européenne.
Elle entend produire une pensée opérationnelle (DO TANK), en vue de la mise en place de politiques publiques contribuant à la promotion de la souveraineté des secteurs économiques stratégiques ainsi que des libres et justes échanges.
Elle publie chaque année un baromètre de transparence des ONG et un annuaire des Think Tanks européens.
